our firm

Founded more than 140 years ago, Jensen & Halstead is the oldest architecture firm in Chicago. Like our predecessors, the current principals insist on direct involvement with each project. This management style produces high quality, personalized results and an excellent record of continuing client relationships.

Martha Strong
Director of Interiors

Martha joined Jensen & Halstead in 2008.  She graduated from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA in Interior Architecture and concentrations in Textiles and Art History. Over the course of her career, she has completed a broad range of project types, including higher education, health care, senior living, country clubs, private residences, mixed-use condominiums, and corporate offices.

Martha enjoys the collaborative process that occurs between interior design, architecture, and an owner’s strategic planning in order to create meaningful spaces that satisfy the long-range goals of each of our clients.
