our firm

Founded more than 137 years ago, Jensen & Halstead is the oldest architecture firm in Chicago. Like our predecessors, the current principals insist on direct involvement with each project. This management style produces high quality, personalized results and an excellent record of continuing client relationships.

David K. Dastur, AIA
Senior Principal

As a Senior Principal at Jensen & Halstead, David oversees a number of the firm’s projects. He ensures the quality of planning, design, construction and code compliance of healthcare and senior living facilities, such as Kankakee’s Riverside Pavilion and Evanston-based Presbyterian Homes. His specialties include master planning and programming.

David also coordinates the firm’s business and strategic planning. In January 2005, he facilitated a partnership between Jensen & Halstead and Studio One Design, an interior design firm also specializing in healthcare and senior living. The new division of J&H offers a comprehensive package of services including initial consultation, space planning, interior design, procurement and implementation.

Dave has 18 years of healthcare architecture experience and is a Licensed Architect in Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.

He is a member of the AIA and TEC, an international organization of chief executives.

Francisco Rosas, CSI
Senior Principal

As a Senior Principal, Francisco provides support and leadership in the design and development of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, surgical centers, laboratories and long term care facilities. With more than 30 years of experience, he enjoys the challenge of working in a dynamic environment with ever-changing medical equipment technologies and life support systems.

Francisco joined Jensen & Halstead in 1973 as a draftsman apprentice. He attended the Illinois Institute of Technology and continued independent studies in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Land Development, Business Administration and Information Systems.

Fluent in Spanish, Francisco has the opportunity to network with the Latin American community and address their cultural customs in the healthcare industry.

Francisco is President and Co-Founder of the Economic Development Commission of Greater Logan Square, a not-for-profit organization that fosters responsible development in the communities of Logan Square and Avondale. He also was elected and served as community representative in the local councils of Logandale Middle School and Avondale Elementary School.

Glenn D. Seerup, AIA
Principal

Glenn joined Jensen & Halstead in January 2000 and has more than 13 years experience in healthcare and commercial architecture. As a Principal, he works directly with clients, subcontractors and staff to ensure the quality of design in healthcare and senior living facilities.

Most recently, Glenn managed the firm’s design of Riverside Medical Center’s Pavilion Building in Kankakee, IL. Using three architectural elements – a two-story atrium, a pedestrian bridge and a six-story office building – Glenn and his team successfully met the facility’s challenge to expand despite a neighboring five-lane highway.

Glenn graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and is a Licensed Architect in Illinois.
